Utrecht – IT service provider ilionx and the Dutch cloud platform Uniserver introduce a sovereign care cloud. In this collaboration, the private cloud of Uniserver forms the basis from which ilionx takes over the daily management of HiX and other care applications for customers. ilionx has been offering this application management for years for the well-known electronic patient file (EPD) of ChipSoft.
The growing importance of the private cloud
Companies from various sectors are increasingly concerned about where their data is stored. The private cloud is therefore becoming important for more companies. ilionx was therefore looking for a partner in the private cloud that could also meet requirements such as flexibility and scalability. After a thorough analysis of existing customers and their workloads, we looked at whether and how these could be transferred to a sovereign Dutch cloud. This is how the collaboration with Uniserver came about. Via the Uniserver cloud platform, ilionx can quickly and flexibly onboard customers in the sovereign cloud, in which NIS2, NEN7510, AVG and all other security requirements are met. Both parties work for companies in the same sectors, such as government and healthcare.
Sovereign Dutch healthcare cloud
In the latter sector, the organizations kick off their partnership with a sovereign Dutch healthcare cloud. The hospital Bernhoven was looking for a party that could take over their most important system, the EPD, and perform the daily management and monitoring to ensure continuity. The choice fell on the combination of ilionx and Uniserver, with ilionx as the main contractor and the data being hosted on the Healthcare Information Platform (HIP) of ilionx. The most important requirement for the new infrastructure was the maximum legal protection of the patient data, which means that the data does not leave the Netherlands and that European legislation is complied with at all times.
