The graphic cloud workplace from Uniserver: GPU VDI

GPU VDI is Uniserver's graphic workstation. It offers a remote workplace with graphic support from the cloud, ideal for using heavy applications such as Revit, Solidworks and Autocad.
Marc Roeleveld, Cloud Architect at Uniserver, explains: “With the graphical workstation you can use heavy applications from the cloud. This is useful, for example, if you are on a construction site and need to edit a CAD drawing. Now you can easily do this with your iPad by going to a remote workplace with a lot of computing power.”
The challenge in the construction sector is making graphic applications accessible at various locations. This is essential for companies such as SBB Binnenafbouw, which makes suspended ceilings and metal stud walls. Wesley van Diejen, Manager at SBB Binnenafbouw, says: “Our question was mainly: how can we log in from home and from the construction site to access the items? Because we couldn't access the pieces, but now we can. Foss IT has arranged a complete cloud situation for us. They have given us online workplaces that allow us to log in to our stuff, files and programs from anywhere.”
With GPU VDI, SBB Binnenafbouw employees can focus on their work regardless of the location. Wesley continues: “This allows us to focus much more on the quality of the work: you are more productive in the work you do, finished in a shorter time and therefore have a higher return.”
Marc Roeleveld emphasizes the collaboration needed to make this solution possible: “It is indeed a very good collaboration between us, the partner and the end customer. The end customer passes on a need to the partner, who then passes it on to us. This creates the perfect triangle to work together for solutions.”
With Uniserver's GPU VDI, companies such as SBB Binnenafbouw are ready for the future. Wesley van Diejen concludes: “With these solutions we are ready for the challenges that the future will offer us.”
